Jonathan began working at COS as the Director of Youth in July of 2022. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Community Advocacy and Social Policy from Arizona State University and works as a case manager for New Hanover County Health and Human Services. He has an extensive background in working with youth in faith contexts as well as professionally. He spent the last decade working for World Vision as a medical and volunteer coordinator.

Jonathan’s faith experience has been a journey- a variety of denominations and non-denominations but always with the common thread of finding space and the grace to explore questions and have conversations. Because, as he puts it, “if you’re certain about faith, it might not be faith after all.”

Jonathan and his wife Richelle moved to Wilmington from Pittsburgh, Pa in the summer of 2021 and reside in Leland. When not working he can be found enjoying the Marvel Cinematic Universe, exploring the outdoors as much as possible, and playing in the Wilmington rock/soul band Holy Heat. He admits to having an exceptional collection of cardigans and a serious issue with not finishing books, explaining that he leaves a chapter remaining and puts it away - seriously.
