Making New Friends - Bates Toone
Making new friends during Covid proved difficult, but as soon as many of the restrictions were lifted here at Plantation Village, some of the people in my building asked me if I would be willing to share my art work. So we set a time, a place in this building's solarium and planned how to set up the show.
With help, I was able to take some of my framed work as well as a bin of matted paintings up to the third floor. We made flyers and invited everyone in three buildings to come. One kind new friend brought a bottle of wine and another made cookies. Much to my surprise over 30 people showed up, and I got to meet many new folks that I had yet to get to know.
It was a fun event and they are planning an article about it in the monthly newsletter.
Below are two of the works I displayed: "Wilmington Summer" and "Southern Barns."
